Joke of the day: How Does The Easter Bunny Leave?

- Answer down the bottom

Hi 116,104,101,114,101,

Helloooo we're back. Had a few technical delays getting into the new year (as you do) but back to business as normal so you can look forward to the monthly 💌 Positive Post 📫 from us at the Positive Vibes Foundation, your local Hills charity.

Get a coffee and stretch it out after the long weekend, grab a snack, and let's catch up!

For those of you Baulkham Hills locals, or you're in the know - Grill'd Baulkham Hills has newly re-opened. You also may know that they support in-house various local charities, and a great update we're stoked to share is that PVF for April is a nominated charity. If you're hungry do drop in and treat yourself to a bite and check it out.

Bringing you some fur baby cuteness - here is a photo of Dexter and Marley at the Headspace Castle Hill Open Day on 1st Feb that we were an attendee of. A big thank you to our volunteers Jeanette and Shirley for bringing their dogs. It was a free event that connected the community to local services and was great to connect with so many new faces with lots of interest in PVF.

In other catch up news - Brooke Collins OAM, one of our directors, has registered for March On under PVF’s banner. This march is to support and raise funds for Soldier On's life-changing mental health services and programs so that our returned ADF members and their families can march on.
You can read more about it here!

"I'm doing this to help the many thousands of brave war heroes who have been impacted mentally in ways we will never understand and the sacrifices they made in allowing us the freedom we share all today. Their courage and sacrifices can never be understated and given the hellish conditions they would have encountered in Kokoda and in remembrance I will walk/run 384kms in remembrance, and in doing so, I hope I can help prevent and reduce veteran suicides" - Brooke.

Some extra tid bits that have made our year so far!

BNI Charity Collective Golf Day

BNI donated $7,196 to PVF from their Golf Day proceeds.

BNI Sydney North West & Penrith (BNI SNW) is Australia's largest referral Networking organisation with 550+ members who have referred more than $30.5 million dollars in business to each other in just last 12 months. The BNI SNW Charity Collective is an initiative of this region to support local, grassroots charities to receive donations, support, visibility and mentoring.
Their vision is to unite charities for greater impact, benefitting each organisation and the communities they serve.

The Hills UPmarket

Hills UPmarket donated over $3,000 to us at Positive Vibes.

If you haven't come down to Upmarket yet please do, you're missing out.
The Hills UPmarket team are all about creating a boutique, local event where friends and family can catch up, have a coffee, grab a bite to eat, shop and relax in a local environment. There is a selection of 60+ quality stalls with a focus on making the event one that is successful and fun for both stallholder and visitor and they would love you to come and join them. There’s heaps of FREE parking and are a dog friendly event. They have joined forces with Positive Vibes Foundation to help spread the word about mental health.

Next date is: Sunday 28th April - come by and say hello!
At: The Terraces, Castle Hill Showground, Showground Rd, Castle Hill

Australian Community Inspired Association (ACIA)

The Tai Chi Ladies of ACIA have generously donated another $500 to PVF.
We wish to thank Bob Waller (President ACIA) and Yvette Broome (Tai Chi Coordinator).

Lastly, our beloved Paw Visits program.

We have added 2 new nursing homes to the program – Moran Aged Care in North Kellyville and Cranbrook Care in Bella Vista.

We have a new volunteer – Luciana Macedo and her 3 year old groodle, Yuna.
Yuna is a large friendly dog who loves people and adores the attention, pats and cuddles. The residents always look forward to her visits.

Calling all volunteers who love a bit of teamwork, can cook a mean sausage sizzle, and all round are keen to give back if you're free for a few hours.
We're teaming up with our friends at Castle Hill Bunnings for a fundraiser this coming April, the 27th. If you had either a morning or afternoon this day to spare and would like to help us out we'd love to hear from you! Just submit our form via here and we can then be in touch as needed.

Something a bit different and fun to mix in
- introducing the Positive Mindset Challenge for the newsletter!

So what is this? It's a fun optional activity we'd love to put out there for anyone who'd like to spread a bit of positivity. The theme for this challenge this round will be: Make a moment for someone else.

Perhaps you might like to pay a service worker a compliment, go out of your way to leave a comment on someone's social media saying you love their smile, or text a friend with a memory saying you thought of them. Get creative!

If you have a moment you'd like to then share with the community, do click below - we'd love to relay some memorable ones perhaps in a future newsletter.
