Joke of the day: What did one hat say to the other?

- Answer down the bottom

Hi 116,104,101,114,101,

We mid-year made it, coming in warm with our monthly 💌 Positive Post 📭 bringing you our happening's here at the Positive Vibes Foundation.

We've had a bit of growth with our newsletter community in recent weeks!

Perhaps you met us at Upmarket, down at our Women's Shed, or through friends of a Positive Vibe'er. Either way if you're new here w-e-l-c-o-m-e we're so happy to have you with us!

Fresh off the printing press we have the official flyer and details about the upcoming Hills Charity Gala Ball.

Each year Biviano’s Restaurant in Dural hosts ”The Hills Charity Gala Ball” to proudly support local charities, and this year Positive Vibes Foundation is honoured to be selected and supported. The Positive Vibes Foundation aims to improve and promote positive mental health and wellbeing in communities.

This means that all relevant proceeds, donations, gifts, etc. will be received for the work/programmes run by PVF. It should be a stellar night as we have secured Dr Mark Cross to be our keynote speaker. He was the lead psychiatrist on the ABC series Changing Minds, is author of two best sellers, and uses his own lived experience to engage, entertain and educate.

When: Thursday 31st August, 2023

Where: Biviano's Restaurant Dural

Details: A bespoke menu, fantastic live entertainment and music to dance into the night and all for a great cause.

Tickets: Can be purchased at Trybooking, click here.

If you wish to sit together with friends create a table name for your group to use in the Table/ Seating field, when you book.

How you can get involved: We're always immensely grateful for community or individual donations for the raffle, silent auction or sponsorship packages.

- If you'd like to get in touch about this please email us at info@positivevibes.org.au with subject 'Gala Donation'.

Phew that was a lot to take in - a feast for the eyes.

Speaking of which, if you're feeling hungry may I humbly recommend a good burger and chips always hits the spot. It was a very sweet moment to see at Grill'd restaurant in Baulkham Hills (old northern rd) going inside and to see they had added PVF as a leading local charity you can donate to.

When you order they give you a token which you then drop in a jar for a charity they then will donate to, such a lovely initiative! Here's more info which is a great read.

Our Jeanette from PVF had the honour of attended a meeting with the West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook Rotary Club in which we received a generous cheque for $2000 as a donation to The Hills Women's Shed on 30th June. Always grateful for the support and continued spotlight which further funds our community initiatives.

  • We love a good renovation project!
Next on our hit list officially is upgrading the toilet facilities (hurray) at our Balcombe Heights meeting rooms, which we're now able to make happen through the NSW Government Stronger Communities Program Grant.
This will not only serve our expanding hosting abilities with guests and visitors but continue to make Positive Vibes a more accommodating place - stay tuned.

  • Also, we're delighted to welcome new directors to the PVF board Brooke Collins OAM and Susan Smith! Both bringing a wide range of skills to assist with the future development of the foundation.

  • We are thrilled to be included as one of the two organisations nominated by Commbank Winston Hills branch to receive a funding boost, but we need your vote 🙏 which closes 11th August.
Follow the link below, and enter winston hills to access your local voting options and vote for us: http://commbank.com.au/communitydonations

  • Our next UPmarket day is 27th August (4th Sunday of each month).
Enjoy a day in the sun with a selection of 60+ quality stalls - catch up with friends, enjoy some great food, and pups welcome! 9am - 2pm, Castle Hill Showground.

  • And lastly do follow our Hills Women's Shed FB page for our past + upcoming activities itinerary. Every Thursday 10am / every 2nd Saturday 11am - 1pm.

A highlight from July was making Tassels with award winning Artist Liam Benson. Liam’s artwork has been displayed at numerous local, Regional and National Museums across Australia including the MCA (Museum of Contemporary Arts).
The session was all about creating simple colourful keyring tassels using thread and beads with the ladies.

Mental health tip of the month:

Answer: Stay here! I'm going on ahead 😂

We sometimes get asked how people can help, and making a donation of any size we're always grateful for as we wouldn't be here without your continued support.

Visit our Donation Page here.

These funds are what keeps our community lead activities, events, and mission initiatives going.

Fun fact: $40 will pay for the running of our Hills Women's Shed for a day 💕

*Donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Receipt auto-emailed to you.
