Joke of the day: where do elves go to vote?

- Answer down the bottom

Hi 116,104,101,114,101,

Hope you've been well as we soon step into the merriest of month's!
As we do we'd love to reflect on our past few weeks with some updates with our monthly 💌 Positive Post 📭 bringing you our happening's here at the Positive Vibes Foundation.

Get a coffee and get comfortable. Let's start strong with *drum roll* -------

We'd like to formally invite you to our positively christmassy get together, and if you're able to make it we'd love to see you there!

Being that we're closed over the December period - always nice to come together and wrap up the year with some casual festivities, eat and be merry!
If you can make it please kindly rsvp so we know for numbers - susan.smith@positivevibes.org.au
Come one, come all!

On a separate note regarding coming together - we're stoked to say that our day bag packing for Share the Dignity, “It’s in the Bag’ campaign - went so well!

What was this (if you didn't know) you may be asking?
Share the Dignity, “It’s in the Bag’ campaign with which Belinda Hennessy has worked tirelessly over recent years - the purpose led project in efforts lead to directly helping women in crisis, experiencing DV, homeless or just doing it tough by giving them access to products which we easily can take for granted.

Many of you gave your time helping us gather and pack these supplies together, which was delivered to Bunnings in November for distribution. The essential items like shampoo, deodorant, sanitary pads or tampons, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste have all gone to a worthy cause and we thank those involved again for your time!

Do spy some vid's and pics on our FB pages, PVF + Shed (linked).

We're honoured and excited to be a charity partner with the upcoming annual BNI North West & Penrith Charity Collective Golf Day 2023.
You're invited to attend and support a good community cause, a golden opportunity to network with beaut business's, and have a fun day out.

Date: Friday, 1st December 2023

Location: Richmond Golf Club - 34 Bourke St, Richmond NSW 2753

Tickets: Lunch starts at 11:30am (incl. lunch, 2 drinks)
Tickets available via here.

  •  We at PVF were successful recipients of the council for primary school students $5700 grant to the betterment of mental health. A small but mighty update, we've then been able to upgrade to a fantastic high speed wifi at the Shed, amongst other things! This enables our efforts to help with zoom coordination, virtual events, and streaming content. Stay tuned for more as we kick this off more into the new year.

  • We're giving a warm welcome to Alexia Yazdani who joins us on the PVF board.
Alexia is dedicated to giving back to her community and has an unwavering commitment to creating a compassionate and inclusive society. For more than a decade, Alexia has been serving the local community through her Baulkham Hills law firm, using her legal expertise to provide assistance to those in need.

  • And lastly, a big shoutout to Queenie 👸 and their practicum involvement with PVF.
    - Currently studying: Bachelor of Counselling at ACAP (Australian College of Applied Professions)
    - Service learning with Positive Vibes Foundation
    - Passion: Perinatal Mental Health
    - Why Counselling? Living in such a large and fast-paced city, people often forget about the necessity of slowing down and self-care. Burnout is not a state that should just be accepted as normal. Instead, I want to help people go back to the basics of exploring things such as movement, creativity and gratitude and see the immense value that these things can add to life.
    - Why Positive Vibes and The Women's Shed? It resonates deeply with my core values and passion, which is to help women make their mental health a priority. To flourish as an individual, one needs to be surrounded by human connection, fun, laughter and kindness and that is exactly what the Women's Shed offers.

  • And better later than not, but our October card making class at the Shed went down a treat.
How create and clever everyone was, as Belinda showed us the card makers creative touch which participants can then use on their own for any occasion. If you like this workshop and more do let us know as we're keen to expand on more fun days like this!

  • We're already planning ahead for 2024 and with that our Young Healthy Minds Forum is in full effect! An annual event that brings together 150+ high school students in an interactive and engaging full day workshop on mental health and mindfulness.

Our next one at this time looks to be 8th May (details to come ofcourse), but as we finalise the finer details we want to put a call out that any educators or school affiliates who'd like to be involved we'd love to hear from you - info@positivevibes.org.au
