Joke of the day: What's Beethoven's favourite fruit?

- Answer down the bottom

Hi 116,104,101,114,101,

A dose of our monthly 💌 Positive Post 📭 bringing you our happening's here at the Positive Vibes Foundation.

We started May strong with our Library Talk at Castle Hill Library on the 4th which was a fantastic turnout - thanks for coming those who could make it we loved seeing your faces and being able to come together! The focus of the talk was lead in two parts:

The Mental Health Benefits of Exercise - given by Nik Fox who is the founder and director of Punch Love for women's fitness. Nik is a certified fitness instructor and master practitioner of feng shui. Also, Tai Chi for Mental Health - given by Emily Yang. Emily is a post doctorate research fellow at Western Sydney University and a Tai Chi Master.

An update of our growing Shed garden 🍃.

We want to thank all our succulent donator friends for these continued wonderful contributions from a variety of sources and people! We're stocked now, and the focus will be to expand our variety - making our garden as great as it can be as it really brings up the community vibes. A big shout out of thanks also to Bunnings who have donated compost bins, soil, veggie seedlings and lemon trees, etc. Alex, our neighbour, donated Cactus (of course much more).

Nurseries / businesses are welcome to contact us, as we have fun plant related workshops all year round.

On the 17th May, the Christadelphian Aged Care home hosted a Volunteer Afternoon Tea to thank us. Seen here is PVF's Mario (as brought Daisy to the home), seated next to Jeanette Healy who brings Dexter, and seated next to her is Laura Camphuis who brings Toby. Many thanks to our dog volunteers! We were also impressed by how dedicated the CAC team were.

Lastly, we had a really successful day with our Young Healthy Minds Forum to spread our vision of positive mental health. It was held at the Australian International Academy (AIA) in North Kellyville (a big thank you for us utilising their school hall). There were 140 students from 9 schools, with Matt Caruana engaging as the lived experience speaker.

We had a Q&A panel comprising Dr Tanveer Ahmed (psychiatrist), Shadi Gray (psychologist) and John Khoury (Wollemi College Student Counsellor). It was a very engaging and interactive forum where students got to hear about how to improve and sustain good mental health. The main message was it doesn’t end here; they were encouraged to use the tools they learnt to also help their families, friends and school communities.

Burn Bright facilitated the forum, and the main supporters being AIA, Hills Shire Council, The Hills Clinic, Castle Hill Rotary Club.

We're excited that PVF were mentioned in the latest Hills to Hawkesbury magazine – for UPmarket and Community Connect. Do have a peek at the write up here.

  • Our next UPmarket day is Sunday, 28th May (4th Sunday of each month). Enjoy a day out with a selection of 60+ quality stalls - catch up with friends, enjoy some great food, and pups welcome! 9am - 2pm, Castle Hill Showground.

  • And ofcourse, do follow our Hills Women's Shed FB page for our upcoming activities itinerary. Every Thursday 10am / every 2nd Saturday 11am - 1pm.

Mental health tip of the month:
