Joke of the day: Why do bees have sticky hair?

- Answer down the bottom

Hi there,

February sure has been bringing the heat hasn't it? What a scorcher it's been!

Reminder to stay hydrated, keep cool and break out the sunscreen on those extra hot days - and keep an eye out for fellow friends (humans and animals alike) who may be more vulnerable in the hot periods.

Talking about keeping cool, we're got you covered with putting your best fashion foot forward for our hotly anticipated Hills Womens Shed Fashion Parade night in 15 days - March 10th.

We'd love to see you there for a good cause, fun and some retail therapy.

Come one, come many and tell a friend!

Details and Tickets available here or links via our FB page.

Welcome drinks, a stunning two course dinner, auctions and prizes, an inspirational speaker, and a fabulous entertaining show featuring the latest and greatest fashion from retailer Leilani Lifestyle Boutique which too can be purchased on the night.

We had a wonderful opening day for our Hills Womens Shed with ladies attending our morning tea, opened by Chris Ligertwood (our coordinator) who spoke on our future plans, workshops, and activities planned for the new year.

Mercedes Durante one of the Directors of the Foundation also joined us this morning and welcomed everyone. Mercedes thanked the PVF team that makes the Women’s Shed the great place that is becoming on a weekly bases.

Debbie Hatumale- Uy also joined us this morning, she is a young mum running her own business, she’s our new volunteer. Debbie have so many ideas to help us at the Shed and PVF. We welcomed our new coordinator Tamkin Hakim and she was wonderful talking to everyone in the group, mentioning she is excited to be part of us and looking forward to the lead the shed.

We have the lovely visit from Brian McCombe and Sue, they brought some donations for our group. Thanks everyone who was able to come and reconnect as we're so exciting for what's to come - stay tuned.

Our next Saturday event is on the 25th February at 11am.

Also, we at Positive Vibes have been registered (with a donation link) for the Hills Relay for Life.

Relay For Life is to raise funds for every person who’s ever heard the words: “you have cancer”. In 2023, more than 134, 000 Australians will receive the news. Among them are our friends, families and colleagues. Cancer is a devastating disease for so many. For people living with cancer, their treatments can be long and stressful.

Together, we can help Cancer Council provide life-changing support services, advocacy, prevention and research across Australia.
